Club Competition Rules for
2017 – 2018 Season
Dudley Camera Club Competitions
Each season there will be eight club competitions:
Four Print and four Projected Digital Image

Print Competition Specifications
Print Size
From en-print to 16” x 20” (400mm x 500mm).
Prints may be trade or home processed
Print Mounts
All prints must be mounted on board 16” x 20” (400mm x 500mm).
Labeling the Mounts
All Prints entered must bear the authors name and image title on the reverse of the mount.
There should be no title or signing on the print or the face of the mount.
Projected Digital Image Competition Specifications
Judging
Each competition will be judged by an external independent judge approved by Midland
Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF).
General and Advanced entries in each competition rounds will be eligible to receive points for each separate section.
Points will be awarded in each section as follows:
First 7 points
Second 6 points
Third 5 points
Forth 4 Points
Two commended places
3 points each
Each image entered
1 point
Awards and Progression
A tally of the points scored in each competition is kept and is available for view on club nights or on this web site.

At the end of each club season a winner of each Section in each Division will be declared.
Certificates will be presented, in respect of the eight competitions, at the A.G.M.
Progression from General Division to Advanced Division will be in accordance with the scheme set out elsewhere in this booklet.

- General - This division is usually for the less experienced members, mainly newcomers to photography and digital imaging.
- Advanced
- Colour Prints

Competition Galleries
Progression from General to Advanced Division in Club Competitions and Exhibitions
- The overall winner and those persons placed second in each section (i.e. Colour prints, Monochrome prints, Projected Image Colour and Projected Image Monochrome) in the General Division of the Club co petitions may progress to the Advanced Division in that subject from the commencement of the following season.
- The winner of each section (i.e. Colour prints, Monochrome prints, Projected Image Colour and Projected Image Monochrome) in the General Division of the Annual Exhibition/competition may progress to the Advanced Division from the commencement of the following season.
- All new members will be included in the General Division upon joining the club. If the work produced by a member is clearly of a high standard (e.g. a new member who has experience, perhaps with another club) Progression to the Advanced Division may be granted by the committee.
Print Competition Specifications
Print Size

Projected Digital Image Competition Specifications
- Maximum Size of a Projected Digital Image - 1600 x 1200 pixels in landscape format and entries should be submitted in sRGB mode
- In order to separate the image from the background ALL IMAGES should have a 2 pixel frame/border around the image and within the overall size of 1600 x 1200 pixels. The projector will fill any spare space with black.
- Portrait (upright) images must not exceed 1200 pixels in height.
- Submit with each entry one entry form giving name / Division /Colour or mono and a list of the images entered.

Judging
